  Very Special place to stay.  - We have just stayed here again. I think it’s our fifth time which describes HOW much we love it. It is extremely comfortable, very relaxing and beautifully looked... Leer más after by the owners, Pedro and Isabelle and their friendly staff. The breakfast is delicious , fruit, cereals, tortilla, jamón and delicious breads. Wonderful walks and places to visit nearby. It’s a gem. We will return!

  August 2023, wonderful stay.  - Amazing stay, wonderful tranquil place. This is our second visit - great for families, self catering but with the benefit of being able to have breakfast.

  To enjoy an oasis of peace in beautiful surroundings, this is the place, we enjoyed so much and look forward to return.  - It was a pleasure to stay at Can Bassa. Isabelle and Pedro have created an oasis of calm and beauty and a real home from home. We will definitely go... Leer más again and can recommend highly, just unpack and relax. Madremanya is a beautiful village as are the surrounding medieval villages and the beaches are stunning. Go!

  Gorgeous hotel in an incredible part of the Gavarres.  - A beautiful setting in a gorgeous village in the Gavarres. We felt very welcome by the hosts, a friendly family who have created a very relaxing destination.

There's a lovely breakfast to wake up to overlooking the valley.
If you're looking to explore, there's a bike hire shop just below the hotel.

  A fantastic Spanish experience.  - If you are into easy cycling with a new medieval village experience every 15 minutes you could not find a better place. Most of the cycling is off the main... Leer más roads. Fifty percent was on rocky, gravel tracks which are relatively easy to navigate. TIP: Use GOOGLE MAPS. Just enter the next village as your destination (in cycle mode). Google knows every tiny farmer’s track. It would be difficult to navigate with map and signage only. TIP: Pedro’s upright, e-bikes (he has other options) for hire are perfect for the job.

The accomodation and hosts are great. The rooms are clean and quiet with stunning garden surrounds. Breakfast is good but cold options only. The ‘honesty bar’ Is well stocked and reasonably priced. All in all, a fantastic experience thank you Pedro and Isabella. Our three days at Can Bassa was one of our best European experiences. Highly recommended.

We had a very nice lunch at MAS POU in the village of Palau-Sator and a great dinner up the hill from Can Bassa at La Placa.

There is a vineyard closeby called Eccocivi - Can Bassa stocks their wine called Montrodo.
